《4》 is the third work in TAO Dance Theater’s "Numerical Series". Building on Tao Ye’s exploration of movement as pure symbolic material in Weight x 3 and *2*, this piece extends his minimalist ethos through a groundbreaking concept: the body as a living brush drawing circles. Here, Tao pushes deeper into innovating his "circular motion technique" and redefining the aesthetics of bodily texture.

On stage, four dancers traverse diamond-shaped paths—navigating between shared external space and isolated inner realms—to generate ever-shifting yet precisely orchestrated visual patterns. Without physical contact, they execute synchronized weight transfers through circular momentum. Their symbiotic precision generates magnetic cohesion, collectively dramatizing the extremes of energy conservation and entropy.
